Herm has announced plans to screen the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, with a menu 'fit for the Queen' being prepared.
Following her very popular skit with Paddington Bear for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Her Majesty has become as synonymous with marmalade sandwiches as the Peru born bear is.
He is known to keep one under his hat for when he feels peckish, while Her Majesty revealed that she keeps one in her handbag "for later".

Following her death at the age of 96 last week, many people have left stuffed toys of the bear and wrapped sandwiches in tribute to Her Majesty, which has even led to newscasters sharing a message from Palace staff asking them not to as the food may attract vermin.

With some guests already booked to stay in Herm over this weekend and into next week, and the islands afforded a public holiday to enable those who wish to to watch the State Funeral, Herm has announced that it will be screened at the Mermaid Tavern and the White House Hotel.
Sharing an invite to social media, the island said "Her Majesty The Queen's funeral will be screened at the Mermaid Tavern and The White House Hotel Garden Room for all visitors and guests in Herm Island on Monday. We welcome anyone who wishes to join us as we pay respect to our wonderful Queen."
Hospitality Manager, Tom Jones said, "Herm residents and staff have been deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and we wanted to make sure anyone who is visiting Herm this Monday, or staying on the island, has the opportunity to come together and share in this solemn and momentous occasion with a real sense of respect, community spirit and camaraderie. We wanted to provide some typically British elevenses and lunch fare and acknowledge the fun side and sense of humour that we all loved about our Queen."

As well as the usual menus at both venues, there will be some special refreshments on offer.
Mr Jones confirmed that the White House Hotel kitchen team will be making some special Marmalade Polenta cake as a nod to the much-loved skit with Paddington Bear filmed earlier this year in honour of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, as well as a traditional afternoon tea.
He also said the Mermaid Tavern will be offering Coronation chicken sandwiches; created for Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee in 1977, smoked salmon, cream cheese & cucumber sandwiches, scones with jam & cream and elderflower Prosecco cocktails in addition to the usual menu.
"We warmly welcome anyone who wishes to join us in Herm, as we pay our respects to our wonderful Queen," said Mr Jones.

Although the Queen is not known to have visited Herm, her son and heir has been there twice.
King Charles III first visited Herm in 2004 where he requested some private time to walk around the island with Adrian Heyworth, who was the leaseholder of the island at the time.
He later visited a second time in 2012, accompanied by how now Queen Consort.
On this occasion he made time to speak with the widow of an Officer who had been killed in Afghanistan just a few months prior. She was on holiday with their children and the then Prince of Wales asked to be introduced to her during his short time in Herm.
