Sales Assistant (20hrs) - CX Landes Du Marche

Department: Checkers Xpress - Forecourt Landes Du Marche

Employment Type: Part Time

Location: Guernsey

Reporting To: Store Manager


** Please make sure you have the correct Right to Work Permissions **
** 8hrs Saturdays **
  • Provide top-level customer service that exceeds expectations;
  • Ensure that stock is displayed for purchase;
  • Ensure that customers can pay quickly and easily and leave the store feeling positive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the customer with an up to date knowledge of products and services;
  • Use of tills and other equipment most accurately and efficiently;
  • Ensure shelves are stocked with products and faced appropriately;
  • Handle customer complaints and route their needs to the appropriate personnel;
  • Follow approved procedures for receiving products and restocking to ensure quality protection, accuracy, and product rotation;
  • Ensure all out of date products and damaged stock are removed from sale and waste is correctly recorded;
  • Ensure the reductions process and POS is completed;
  • Replenish and manage stock;
  • Advise stock orders if required;
  • Use commercial documentation to access information relating to your department;
  • Maintain high standards of the sales floor, warehouse, back of the house and till point hygiene;
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and storage areas;
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures;
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment;
  • Watch out for theft, fraudulent methods of payment and deceitful purchases;
  • Assist with the training and development of new staff;
  • Support and help colleagues with their work and getting behind company initiatives as and when they arise;
  • As necessary, work out of the role in order to meet customer and business needs.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Good general education;
  • Current First Aid at Work Certificate (Preferred);
  • Current Food Hygiene Certificate (Preferred);
  • Effective time-management skills;
  • Excellent development skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations;
  • Ability to receive feedback and act on it, when necessary;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability and willingness to acquire job related-skills and knowledge through self-development and by learning from others;
  • Sensitivity and understanding;
  • Good attention to detail;
  • Background in Customer Service (Preferred).
