With so much information around regarding the tax plans which could see GST introduced in Guernsey we have brought the visual aids together to help understanding.
The States most senior committee - Policy and Resources - announced their plans for reshaping the way we all pay tax last month.
The plans will be debated in January.
At a public meeting held on Monday 28 November, three members of P&R - Deputies Peter Ferbrache, Dave Mahoney and Jonathan Le Tocq, were joined by the President of the Committee for Employment and Social Security, Deputy Peter Roffey.
The four outlined the proposals and took questions from the approximately 40 people gathered at Les Beaucamps High School.
The meeting was live streamed and can be watched in full below.
Deputy Liam McKenna stood for election as an independent, briefly joined the Guernsey Party after being elected to the States, then left the party and is now classed as an independent deputy again.
Like all elected members of the Guernsey Party he said he was against GST during his 2020 campaign.
He is standing by that view and has recently published a video on his political Facebook account where he outlined his opinion and why he wants the States to say no to GST.
Deputy Mark Helyar is the Treasury Lead for P&R.
Despite standing on an anti-tax rises platform he has now changed his mind and has sought to explain why his opinion is now vastly different to what he stated before the election.
Using his political Facebook account he has shared two videos this week explaining the P&R proposals in great detail. He has also used these videos to outline his personal views, to explain why he changed his mind and to explain why he is currently taking some time off from work while still working on political matters from home as he recovers from an operation.
Express asked Deputy Helyar if we could reproduce the two videos in a story and he said no.
He said they are his own rather than government output.
The two videos are both publicly available to be viewed via Facebook and can be sought out by searching for Mark Helyar on the social media site.
