Apocalypse Studios based at the School of Popular Music is a brand new audio production company that specialises in recording, mixing, video production, songwriting and script-writing.
The SOPM moved to its new premises at Delancey campus in October last year and earlier this year opened the new studios, which are in two purpose built rooms with all the latest equipment.
The studio is run by Mikey Ferbrache, Peter Mitchell and Tyler Edmonds and is being operated a bit like a label for local people.
Mr Edmonds, Director of the School said: "It is a route for people who want to take music seriously and was something that was not available when I was growing up. I was in a band for a few years and went on tour and recorded music in the UK, even back then production would cost around £1,000 a song. We can now offer this service locally which instantly reduces the cost."

Mr Edmonds continued: "The studio is on a par with any in the UK and it has all the best microphones and equipment and is the only purpose built studio on the island which is available to anyone. People will be able to create decent music demos to send to venues or recording studios. We have already had some groups and bands and corporate clients use the studios and we will be using it ourselves for a charity Children In Need single later this year."
The school are currently in talks with BBC Children in Need as they are planning to release that single in November to raise money for the event. They have not decided as yet if it will be an original song or a cover the the studio will sort the entire production, video and content.
The School itself is going from strength to strength since launching and has more than 450 students. Mr Edmonds said: "We saw a gap in the market and have been delighted to offer an alternative contemporary music school. Our most popular lessons are in guitar, drums and singing and our students range from four years old to those in their seventies. We like to think that age is no restriction and music is for everyone."
The school will yet again be out and about throughout the year with confirmed performances during 'Arts Sunday,' in June, Liberation Day and the Vale Earth Fair. Mr Edmonds said: "The events we attend aim to provide a platform for all our contemporary music styles."
