A new fast-charging point for electric cars will be installed outside Guernsey Electricity and available for public use by the end of the year.
The island already has 13 charging stations across 11 locations; however, the upcoming installation will charge electric cars around three time faster than the current charging points.
The rapid charging station will be installed outside the Guernsey Electricity Retail Showroom on Northside.

A spokesperson from Guernsey Electricity told Express: “Guernsey Electricity is aiming for the point to be delivered and in use by the end of 2021.”
The charging units are accessible 24/7 and are operated by a pay as you go system via the PlugnGo app or card, and operational information is available on site.
