Flower arrangement section nipped in the bud

The Eisteddfod's postponed Arts and Crafts Exhibition will take place this summer - however the flowers arrangement section has been ditched because there is nobody willing to organise it.

The exhibition will be staged in Beau Sejour's David Ferguson Hall from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 June.

Entry Forms should be taken to the Grammar School on 24 April between 10:00 and 12:30. However, there is no Flower Arrangement Section again this year, with the Guernsey Eisteddfod Society confirming "there is no person willing to organise it."

"If anyone knows of someone who might be interested in taking on this position please contact the General Secretary on 247606."

The Festival has also confirmed that entries to the Music, Speech & Drama and Modern Language Sections will be refunded and when.

"All entry fees submitted by schools (music, dance and theatre schools, States schools and Colleges) on behalf of performers will be returned to those schools for distribution to their pupils as required.

"All other entry fees may be claimed in person on Saturday 24 April between 10am and 1pm at the Grammar School. Please bring a suitable form of personal identification so that we may verify your identity."

Any entry fees not claimed on the day "will be considered as donations towards future Guernsey Eisteddfod Festival expenses."
