Grade: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale- £30,249 - £43,435 / £45,872 - £48,791 and a SEN allowance of £3,154 per annum
Required with effect from 7th January 2020 an innovative and dynamic secondary teacher with experience of successfully enabling children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties to fulfil their potential. The successful candidate will have the ability to build excellent relationships with school staff, parents and professionals from other agencies, have high expectations of students, and have resilience in managing the significant demands of working with the most challenging students in our schools.
Les Voies School is a specialist educational provision for students with significant social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, many of whom have involvement from other agencies, such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHS), Social Services and the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal.
The aim is to ensure that as a school the needs of students with SEBD are met and they have opportunities commensurate with their peers.
Applicants should have an understanding of strategies and systems which promote successful learning and positive behaviour. They should have a strong empathy with a desire to meet the needs of these students.
Applicants should be confident in the use of target setting, monitoring and assessment procedures that are an integral part of a professional approach to behaviour management. An understanding and awareness of personal and social skills work is also desirable.
The organisational arrangement for teaching may vary but will generally be in small group settings supported by a Teaching Assistant. All teachers are required to undertake the role of pastoral tutor for a group of named students.
