Full Description

An Insurance specialists is looking to recruit a Claims Handler to join their claims team. The job involves handling claims in a team specialising in particular classes of business (motor/property/liability) with defined parameters of complexity and value. Assisting in the delivery of appropriate customer service and making the best contribution to profit objectives of the business through the use of technical skills. The principal activities within the team will be registering new claims, reserves management, assessment of liability and recovery procedures. The desirable candidate will have the following skills and attributes:Insurance Institute Certificate qualification - desirableCommunicating effectivelyExcellent Client Service - including telephone etiquette, face to face and writtenExperience of evaluating, negotiating and settling claims, including an understanding of standard policy contracts, reserving philosophy and legal liabilitiesBuilding effective client and colleague relationshipsGood working knowledge of relevant underwriting, accounting, PC systems and proceduresPositive attitude and supports the team effortHigh level of professional behaviour and commitment5 GCSE Grade C or above including English & Maths
