Reflecting on 2023's successes

Wednesday 10 April 2024

The Digital Greenhouse has published its 2023 report, with highlights including the island's first full Startup Academy, run in partnership with venture builders Blenheim Chalcot and the closely contended second Guernsey Venture Challenge.

2023 also saw the Digital Greenhouse widen its reach, working with more than 300 entrepreneurs at differing stages of business development and numerous initiatives to build emerging skills in AI, venture building, and innovation.

Events across 2023 showcased and celebrated the breadth of ambition and expertise in the island, with tech, data and sustainability being top areas of focus, said Lucy Kirby, Director at the Digital Greenhouse.

“We are pleased to share this annual update with you and hope it brings our work to life," she said.

"We are incredibly grateful to the Committee for Economic Development for their continued support and our industry sponsors who enable us to deliver programmes without cost to the public.  We would like to thank all the contributors to this year's booklet and to everyone who has given their time and expertise to support the community.”

Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, of the Committee for Economic Development said: “‘Global Focus’ has been a theme of many of the businesses working through the Digital Greenhouse programs, building on Guernsey's strong position as a platform for launching and growing internationally focused businesses.

"It is always a delight to see what new ideas emerge through the numerous entrepreneurship programs and 2023 was no exception. The success and growth of the 2023 Véyaon Awards and the Guernsey Venture Challenge show how much there is to celebrate as well as to look forward to in the future.”
