Kroll is opening an office in Guernsey this September, as it further plans to strengthen its presence and restructuring offering in the Channel Islands.

Kroll, headquartered in New York with over 70 offices serving international clients, will open its first Guernsey office at 10 Lefebvre Street St. Peter Port, ten years after commencing operations in Jersey.

The new office will utilize the firms restructuring capabilities to serve clients’ financial and operational restructuring needs, as well as provide financial services compliance and regulation services, which are also currently offered by in Jersey.

John Ayres, who has been appointed as Managing Director, will head the new office. Mr Ayres joins Kroll with over 25 years’ experience in insolvency, restructuring, forensic and corporate recovery services, including contentious cross-border insolvencies, shareholder disputes, asset-tracing investigations and the realisation of complex and illiquid assets.

In his previous role for a business advisory firm in the British Virgin Islands, he served as Senior Managing Director and head of the Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice. He is a qualified UK Chartered Accountant and BVI Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

Mr Ayres said the development would provide “very exciting opportunities” for the “pivotal financial jurisdiction” of Guernsey.
