Climate change a ‘material financial risk’

Wednesday 09 June 2021

During WE ARE GUERNSEY’s Sustainable Finance Week the topic of sustainability will be explored.

A webinar on the 11 June will be sponsored by Butterfield and will focus on how climate change has changed from an ethical issue to a ‘material financial risk’.

The event will be led by the Head of Climate and Sustainability Risk Governance at MinterEllison, Sarah Baker. The Director of the non-profit Commonwealth Climate and Law Initiative, Elli Mulholland will also join her.

They’ll be discussing the acceleration of regulatory and investor risk assessment expectations.

Several other people will give talks on director’s duties when it comes to sustainability.
