Abi Galpin has started the season with a bang at the UK Athletics Indoor Championships.
An aggressive start in the outside lane helped her to a 24.32s clocking to finish second in the heats of the 200m, lowering her PB and the island record in the process.
It was good enough for seventh fastest in the heats, but as a result of a fall after she powered over the line she did not run in the semi.
The Microplus UK Athletics Indoor Championships took place in Birmingham over two days.
Galpin ran in the final of the opening five heats over one lap of the track.
Success Eduan led that race home in 24.03s, with Ayoola Babalola third in 24.37s.
The semis were just an hour later.
The title was eventually taken by Ama Pipi in 23.29s, with Eduan taking silver with a new PB of 23.41s and Brooke Ironside third in 23.68s.
