Guernsey’s winning ways have continued in the Running World Cup 2023 and there are opportunities for anyone to help that further this weekend.

Competing as part of the smaller European nations, the team narrowly beat previous finalists Namibia in the quarter finals and now face Ukraine.

You can sign up for free to be part of the Guernsey team in the Running World Cup, and every participant who completes three kilometres in under 30 minutes and uploads that from a smartphone or smart device contributes towards their country’s total.

“There are various ways to score points but big bonus points can be gained when runners accumulate 20 km over the weekend,” said Alun Williams.

“It’s great to see we have the Guernsey Athletics 15-mile cliff path race on Sunday. We are also offering an additional three mile run after Parkrun on Saturday morning so that runners can get a few more miles in. Anyone who fancies running just meet up at the Parkrun finish at 9.35am.”
