Golf course plans back on the agenda in Sark

Tuesday 27 February 2024

Plans for a nine-hole golf course in Sark have been revived.

If approved, the course would be created on Grand Beauregard, where permission was granted for a similar project more than 20 years ago.

The nine course will consist of one par five hole, five par fours and three par threes with the longest 508 yards.

Sark Developments is behind the scheme on the west of the island.

Residents can make comments about the plans to the Development & Control Committee until Thursday 7 March.

The idea of a golf course in the island has a long history.

Even in 1967, the Jellicoe Report argued that one could help protect the future of tourism in Sark.

Alderney has a nine-hole course.

Last year, Sark Sports Club organised the Sark Open over nine par three holes of around 120 yards each to raise money for two charities.
