Guernsey Water is using temporary pumps at North Beach.
The mobile units are in place while a planned valve replacement is carried out at the White Rock pumping station.
“This station pumps a peak flow of 220 litres per second, taking flows from the south of the
island and pumping it on to our Belle Greve Wastewater Centre,” said Guernsey Water operations manager Jon Holt.
“In order to safely carry out the works required, we need to bypass the station using the pumps currently visible alongside the North Beach carpark.”
