Temporary changes to North Beach

Monday 19 November 2018

All access to the North Beach will be via the White Rock this week, as the normal access road is resurfaced.

The work will see the access road closed from Sunday 18 November, until early morning on Friday 23.

The St Julian's Emplacement exit road will be temporarily made two way to traffic, and users will need to follow signage to access the car park, ferry terminal and other facilities.

The work is going to be done so that the normal access road  can be reopened as soon as it can be.

During the first phase of the work, there will be no through access for pedestrians and cyclists between the Quay and Glategny Esplanade.

Pedestrians heading in either direction are advised to travel along the landward side of the road and cross at St Julian's Avenue.

During peak hours, Traffic Wardens and Guernsey Harbours Staff will be positioned at strategic points to assist with pedestrian safety and traffic flow.

"It is acknowledged that these essential works will have a major impact on traffic flows through the Weighbridge roundabout area and the harbour itself. All road users who use the area and pedestrians should be aware that heavy congestion is likely and allow extra time and take extra care during their journeys."
