Steel post stolen from Harbour

Thursday 18 January 2018

An unusual theft in Alderney has left police officers looking for a steel post which has gone missing from Braye Harbour.

The steel post had been temporarily left near a recycling pile, so police officers think it may have been taken accidentally by someone who thought it was scrap metal.

Express has been told the 7’ steel box section fence post is heavy as well as large so it would have taken at least two people, with a van or a truck, to move it.

The Steel post belongs to Alderney Harbour and staff had been due waiting to put it up before it went missing.

Anyone with information should contact SGT Taylor at Alderney police station by emailing James.taylor@guernsey.pnn.police.uk, by calling him on 824999 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
