Rehearsals for GADOC's production of Annie had been taking place in January for just two weeks when the island was plunged into lockdown. Despite not being able to open the show this weekend as planned, the theatre company has now secured dates in the summer holidays.
With just two weeks of rehearsals under the belt more than two months ago, GADOC was not in a position to open the show as originally planned on Saturday 3 April.
However, having worked closely with Beau Sejour, Director Lisa Johnston said they have been able to secure alternative performance dates later this year, and Annie will now open on 31 July through to 7 August.
"The amazing Annie cast can’t wait to get back into the rehearsal room," said Ms Johnston. "This is a fantastic family musical, with innovative choreography, colourful costumes, and a technical set that will keep the action moving smoothly from scene to scene - we can’t wait to welcome you all back to the theatre!’
Tickets will be going on sale on Thursday 3 June to GADOC members and Friday 4 June to the general public.
