Guernsey Police are looking for witnesses to a 'verbal altercation' which happened in front of a young child.
Three women were involved in the incident at Ann's Place, St Peter Port, on Thursday morning.
It happened between Swoffers and EFG at around 10:40.
One of the women had a young child in a pram with them.
Any witnesses are asked to call Guernsey Police on 725111 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
