Praise for St Martin's Primary

St Martin's Primary School has been rated 'Excellent' and 'Very Good' in all areas through a recent inspection.

Last month, a team of inspectors from Terry Carr Consultancy Ltd visited the school and talked to parents, carers and children about their experiences there.

They also worked closely with the Headteacher and staff to gather evidence before evaluating the quality of leadership and management, learning and teaching, boarding provision and pupils' achievements.

"I feel immensely proud of our children and very fortunate to work with an amazing team of highly skilled and dedicated staff," said Headteacher Cate Mason. "The inspection team was very clear that achieving a grade of 'Excellent' is rare and exceptional. I am delighted that the report highlights not only our outstanding leadership of change, but also children's equality and wellbeing. The report also remarks on our great team work and highly inclusive environment which have been key ingredients in the success of St Martin's Primary.

The inspectors praised Mrs Mason, describing her as "instrumental in successfully leading and managing school improvement" and commenting on her "drive and commitment to securing over time the very best outcomes for children".

Overall, the team was satisfied with the overall quality of the school, with Leadership, Ensuring Wellbeing, Equality and Inclusion all rated 'Excellent'. Meanwhile, Learning, Teaching and Assessment, Raising Attainment and Achievement were rated 'Very Good'.

"This inspection highlights the many successes, Cate and her team have worked hard to achieve and I am certain the school will build on this further to continue improving educational outcomes for children."
