POLL: Would you vote for Education's plans?

Friday 30 August 2019

Express are asking you whether you support or oppose Education, Sport & Culture's proposed reforms ahead of next week's debate.

The States are set to start debating proposals for one 11-18 school across two sites at Les Beaucamps and St Sampson's, the rebuild of La Mare de Carteret Primary and the creation of the Guernsey Institute on Wednesday 4 September.

The debate cut be cut short if sursis attempts by four Deputies, who believe that Education has provided insufficient detail for their £157million plans, are successful and the vote is delayed until November.

However, as things stand the States will be asked to decide whether or not to approve the most significant reform of local education in years.

We are asking you how you would vote if you were in the States chamber, and why, by taking our poll, which will close at midday on Monday.

If you have any further comments, feel free to let us know in our short survey, which can be completed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BPFWYF6.
