Photography exhibitions will be showcased across St Peter Port when an increasingly-popular festival comes to town next month.

On 23 September, The Guernsey Photography Festival will launch its 10th anniversary celebration edition, themed Acts of Love and Rebellion.

The festival features an exhibition of over 20 international artists, a host of exciting events and a special party, open to all, due to take place at the German Underground Hospital.

With last year’s milestone showcase delayed by the pandemic, Artistic Director Jean-Christophe Godet and his team of curators, committee members and are looking forward to bringing two years of hard work into focus.

“We are thrilled and proud to celebrate our 10th+1 anniversary this year and to welcome, on our small island, another incredible range of talented artists,” said Mr Godet.

“The festival proved over the years that high quality events play a crucial role in promoting Guernsey as a creative and inspiring place to live and work.”

Acts of Love and Rebellion will run from 23 September until 23 October and will include over 20 exhibitions setin venues across Saint Peter Port.

“We recommend audiences visit as many exhibitions as they can,” said Mr Godet.

“In particular, it is especially pleasing to see the transformation of The Grange Road House into a contemporary Arts Centre.”

The Guernsey Arts Commission is one of the festival’s main supporters.

“The festival continues to have a growing reputation internationally and shines a light on the island,” said the Commission’s Head, Russ Fossey.
