WATCH: Solid waves for Guernsey Surf Club's Cold Water Classic

Surfers from both ends of the experience spectrum took the top spots at the Guernsey Surf Club's Cold Water Classic.

Young Indi Warren, just 13, took won the women's competition, with Johnny Walbridge taking the men's.

It was an early start for the juniors at T-other Side at 7am on Saturday with some solid waves coming in on the pushing tide.

The competitors had a 30 minute heat in which to surf while being judged by a panel watching from the beach.

Each wave is scored out of 10 and the best two from each surfer get added up at the end of the heat to decide on the surfer's position. 

First in the water were the under 18 girls.

It was a straight final with all three putting in a solid effort in some challenging conditions.

Florrie Cooper secured the win with two long right handers. 

The U18 boys was also a straight final.

Thomas Le Cheminant and Felix Cooper battled some bigger waves with Thomas taking the win with some great surfing.

The venue for the day then moved to Portinfer, meeting at 11:00 for the dropping tide.

First in the water was the Women’s with the youngest surfer of the day Indi taking the win in what was her debut surfing at Portinfer.

The day finished with the mens competition.

Johnny Wallbridge, Tom Colley, Ed Cooper and James Le Tissier made it through the semis to the finals with Wallbridge putting down some solid turns to take the win.
