Numerous thefts of bikes and bike parts

Saturday 24 April 2021

Police are investigating several incidents that have seen bikes and bike parts stolen from different locations around St Peter Port.

Guernsey Police is appealing for witnesses to the theft of a red, black and white racing bike on 2 April between 01:25 and 01:30 at Bosq Lane.

Between 00:30 on 18 April and 12:30 on 19 April 20, a grey Specialised Rockhopper secured at the Bus Terminus had several parts taken from it, including a chain, seat, lights and grips.

And in another reported incident, the handlebars of a silver mountain bike locked at the North Beach bicycle rack were unscrewed and stolen by thieves. Police say this happened sometimes between 07:20 on 19 April and 16:45 on 22 April.

Anyone who witnessed anything in relation to these thefts is asked to call police on 222222 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Those with information about the racing bike theft should ask for PC 123 Cusack; people should contact PC 174 Potter for the Specialised Rockhopper theft; and PC 95 Jefferies for the mountain bike which was targeted at North Beach.
