The States of Guernsey has joined an International Convention on Road Traffic, which means vehicles and trailers in the Bailiwick of Guernsey need to abide by new regulations.
This legislation comes into effect on 29 March this year.
The Vienna Convention also brought about the need for Guernsey’s own version of an MOT.
Pictured: Most modern vehicles will have these new requirements as standard.
If your vehicle or trailer doesn’t meet any of the above requirements, it’ll be your legal obligation to rectify it.
Some vehicles are exempt and you can find a list of them online.
The law will be “proportionally” policed until people have had time to make the essential changes. If you have any queries or concerns about the changes or vehicles you own, you can email Traffic and Highway Services at traffic@gov.gg or you can call 223400.
