New funding agreement for GROW Ltd

Thursday 29 November 2018

As GROW Ltd, Guernsey's Rural Occupational Workshop, enters its fourth decade it has secured a new funding agreement with the States of Guernsey.

GROW benefits from significant support from the States in its work with the island's disabled and has now signed a new Service Level Agreement with the Committee for Employment & Social Services.

The deal is key for the charity to be able to future-proof employment for the disabled and it will deliver the strong foundation from which GROW can continue to offer its valuable services to its 20 or so learning disabled clients.

The charity has also recently appointed four new directors - Jonathan Hooley, Mike Tidd, Marguerite Talmage and Mark Dunster - who bring a range of skills and experience to the board.

Retiring Chairman Patrick Palmer, who has served GROW Ltd since its inception over 30 years ago, said: "This is a really encouraging development especially as two Supervisors, Roger Le Prevost and Sarah Payne, have also joined the company which, for the first time, enables it to offer services to female clients alongside their male colleagues."

The new directors have a range of experience in the voluntary sector and it's expected that their involvement with GROW Ltd will keep them busy as the charity responds to ever increasing demand for its services.
