Kelly Marie Hainsworth was elected as a douzenier for St. Peter Port last night.
Ms Hainsworth topped the poll with 53 votes. The only other candidate, Anita Kilby, received 48 votes.
Constable Zoe Lihou said: “I congratulate both ladies on successful campaigns and it is unfortunate that there is only one position available.
"We welcome Kelly to the team and look forward to working with her in the future."

There was disappointment with the low turnout even by the standards of parochial elections, which often struggle to enthuse voters.
“It's disappointing that the turn out to vote wasn't higher and we will be looking at ways to engage with our parishioners ahead of the next set of elections in November," said Ms Lihou.
“We know turnout is low when it is for one post. However, that is the nature of elections.
"I was pleased to have a contested election and delighted for Kelly. I hope to see Anita's name on the ballot paper in November 2022."
