Medication stolen during pharmacy burglary

Wednesday 17 February 2021

A man has been remanded in custody on suspicion of breaking into Stonelakes Pharmacy and looting its storeroom.

£1,000 worth of medication is reported to have been stolen from the pharmacy. The Court was told that the incident was captured on CCTV on Sunday night.

A man appeared in Remand Court yesterday morning on suspicion of committing the offence.

Defence Advocate Chris Green appealed for the suspect to be released on conditional bail. That application was dismissed by Judge Gary Perry, who sided with the Crown Prosecutor Chris Dunford's call to remand him in custody.

The burglary was discovered at around 07:30 on Monday morning. A man is reported to have entered the pharmacy through a perspex roof at the rear of the building, before forcing access to a safe in the storeroom and stealing some of its contents, along with other medication.
