Local growers offered tempting 'Hook' up

Wednesday 25 September 2024

The relaunched and refreshed restaurant 'Hook' wants to ally itself with local farmers and growers of all sizes with anyone interested in supplying produce in line to receive restaurant vouchers in return.

It’s not the first time Hook has tried to land local suppliers on the line.

Five years ago the team launched a similar campaign, which culminated in a tasting event in January 2020.

That turned into a Hook tradition, with the latest local tasting event happening in August this year.

Co-owner, Sam Jarrold, says: “At Hook, we believe in the importance of supporting our local economy and providing our guests with the freshest ingredients available.

"By working directly with small-scale growers, we can continue to offer our customers an ever-changing menu that truly reflects the best that Guernsey has to offer."

Any successful additions from small-scale growers would be added to Hook's list of local options from larger suppliers.

These currently include Guernsey meats, dairy, cider and vegetables, as well as locally sourced seafood.

If your hedge veg box is bursting to the brim or your herbs are hardly shifting, you’re encouraged to get in touch with Sam and the team at Hook.
