Deputy Yvonne Burford has put HSC on the spot over the care of local children and young people questioning their gender following the publication of a review of gender identity services in the UK.
The Cass Review was published earlier this week.
Authored by Dr Hilary Cass, it was commissioned by NHS England to "make recommendations on how to improve NHS gender identity services, and ensure that children and young people who are questioning their gender identity or experiencing gender dysphoria receive a high standard of care, that meets their needs, is safe, holistic and effective".
Dr Cass has made a number of recommendations within the report, which can be read in full HERE.
Very soon after the Cass report was published, Deputy Burford put the following Rule 14 question to the Committee for Health and Social Care.
"Please advise what action, if any, HSC will be taking following the publication on 10 April of the Cass Review."
As a Rule 14 question, it will have to be responded to in writing. The response will be published on gov.gg and shared with the media.

Local charity, Liberate has urged caution among those commenting on the Cass Report, wanting to ensure it is read by people who may share their opinions on it.
The charity, which aims to inform, and support members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning communities across the Channel Islands said that at 388 pages in length it was "surprised and disappointed to see people and groups with apparent anti-trans agendas commenting on it" within a day of the report being published.
