One person was hospitalised after fire ripped through a house in Lower Hauteville.
Before the emergency services arrived a neighbour tried to douse the flames with a hose as they burst out the front door.
Two people were in the house at the time, according to emergency service reports.
One person rescued by firefighters was treated by St John Ambulance & Rescue clinicians at the scene before being taken to hospital.
The other person did not need treatment.
No update on their condition has been released.
St John were called at 21:45 and they sent a double crewed ambulance and a paramedic to the scene.
Police also attended.
The road is now closed to all traffic and pedestrians from the junction at the Cornerstone Pub to Pedvin Street.
Tower Hill is one way at the junction with Cliff Street, with no entry from Le Bordage.
