Guernsey win 17 medals on day two

Tuesday 09 July 2019

Guernsey's Island Games team more than doubled their medal tally on the second day of the competition - taking us up to 28 medals so far.

Team Guernsey was second in the medal table at the start of day three of competition - just behind Jersey - with seven gold, 14 silver and seven bronze medals.

It followed a successful first day for Guernsey, even though we were overtaken by our arch rivals.

Monday was a good day for Guernsey's athletics team, with Sarah Mercier and Jenny James taking a 1-2 for Guernsey in the 10,000m.

There were also further medals in shooting, with Nikki Trebert leading the way with Gold in the 25m Sport Pistol for Women.
