Arts Society Lecture at Les Cotils

Join the Arts Society on Wednesday 15 May for an insightful lecture from British philologist Irving Finkel!

Irving Finkel will be giving a presentation titled ‘A classic detective story: The Royal Game of Ur’.

Ur was the most successful board game of antiquity (2600 BC). 

Irving Finkel is a British philologist and Assyriologist. He is currently the Assistant Keeper of Ancient Mesopotamia script, languages and cultures at the British Museum, specialising in cuneiform inscriptions on tablets of clay from ancient Mesopotamia. He is on the Editorial Board of Board Game Studies.

Doors at Les Cotils open at 18:00 for complimentary drinks and the lecture is from 19:00-20:00. Entrance is free to members and non-members £15 at the door if space permits.

Twenty Years of Stitching 

Step into a beautiful world where fabrics, beading and paint intertwine… introducing Guernsey Arts latest exhibition by artist Hayley Mallett.

Featuring an exciting retrospective of Hayley’s work over the past 20 years, 'Twenty Years Of Stitching' opens on 17 May in the Greenhouse Gallery. 

The exhibition is available to view daily between 09:00 to 17:00. Entry is free with a Guernsey Arts Membership or Guernsey Museums Discovery pass.

Join Kiya-Nico Music at Le Pommier for Mellow Mondays! Live acoustic tunes every week.

Kiya's repertoire caters to a variety of tastes, playing her own ethereal folk originals alongside stripped back covers of Adele, Taylor Swift, George Ezra, Tori Amos, The Cure, Guns 'N' Roses, and many more.

Enjoy a delicious dinner in the company of warm decor and acoustic tunes from 19:00-21:00.
