Grange could house 15 new properties

15 homes will be built on the Bougourd Ford site on the Grange, if planners agree.

Developer The Fuller Group has submitted plans to demolish the garage and build 15 dwellings with parking and associated landscaping.

The site is currently used by Bougourd Ford, however, it has been earmarked for development for a number of years and was the subject of a draft development framework in 2019. 

Under the proposals, a mixture of two and three-storey, two and three-bedroom properties will be developed, most of which would have their own gardens.

The plans would see a total of 30 parking spaces on the site and a new zebra crossing would be painted on The Grange to help with the increased footfall.

The approved development framework for the site states that Guernsey's Planning Department would be amenable to an overall build of between 15 - 20 properties.

"For the site in question, and taking account of the site constraints and opportunities, it is anticipated the site would be able to accommodate a density range of 50-66 dwellings per hectare, this takes the site location into account (Main Centre Inner Area) the limited egress visibility and the access road at the junction at Grange Road, which cannot accommodate buildings. Therefore, the site should yield between 15 and 20 units".
