This weekend the Round Table Harbour Carnival returns to St Peter Port and the Globe Theatre continues to wow crowds at St James.
All the by-now-traditional events will be present at the carnival; the man powered flight, duck race, tug of war and more.
Friday's Town carnival starts off the weekend which this time features a smattering of out-of-town gigs and family entertainment. Sure Big Screen also returns to the west coast for a weekend of free cinema for families.
This year’s Guernsey Round Table Harbour Carnival will benefit two local charities, Guernsey Mind and Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG). The Harbour Carnival will take place on Friday 19 July starting at 17:45 and will see the charities attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘Longest Human Chain of People Patting Each Other On the Back’ and finishing with fireworks at 22:00 (full timetable below).
It looks as if the weather might not be ideal tonight but for those who don't mind a bit of rain you can duck into Castle Cornet during Harbour Carnival too, with a line up of acoustic acts around the castle walls from 18:00-19:45.
There are still tickets available to catch world class performers bringing Shakespeare to a new audience as part of the Globe touring company appearing at St James on Friday and Saturday.
Having already visited theatres in the UK and America - three Shakespeare plays themed around refuge and displacement will be performed in Guernsey at St James between 17 – 20 July.

It will be the first time the Globe on Tour players have visited Guernsey, a far cry in many ways from Oddsocks, but perhaps not entirely. The players said that these interpretations of Twelfth Night, Pericles and The Comedy of Errors are “archaic”, yet accessible.
It’s part of a tour which will visit Hong Kong, Oslo and Austria as well as a number of smaller towns in the UK featuring the best Shakespearian actors the world over.
