Further plea for witnesses to George Road vandalism

Thursday 18 February 2021

Police are putting out a further plea for CCTV footage that can help identify a man who kicked the wing mirrors off of several cars in George Road in a late-night spree of criminal damage.

A 33-year-old man was arrested last Monday on suspicion of vandalising multiple cars parked on the St Peter Port road, some time between 03:00 and 04:00 on Sunday 7 February.

The investigation is ongoing and police are in the process of obtaining witness statements and reviewing private and commercial surveillance footage.

Officers are seeking out further evidence of what happened and who did it.

"Police are keen to speak with any person that may have any information concerning the reckless damage," said Guernsey Police.

"Police also urge anybody that has property both private or commercially in the surrounding areas with CCTV to get in contact so we can check the footage which may further assist with our investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Smith or DC Walsh on 725111 or, alternatively, to call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
