Fog-bound passengers offered 'full refund option'

Tuesday 05 November 2024

With the current fog forecast to stick around tomorrow too, Aurigny has taken the proactive step of offering a full refund to all passengers likely to be affected.

It will be a third consecutive day of fog - meaning hundreds of people have had their travel plans disrupted already this week.

Guernsey Airport warned earlier today that the inclement weather is likely to continue.

Anticipating the "anticyclonic gloom" will continue tomorrow, this afternoon Aurigny informed customers booked on flights for travel tomorrow.

The airline said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and is focused on prioritising flights returning to Guernsey to bring passengers home as quickly and safely as possible.

In response to these "extraordinary conditions", and "recognising that some passengers may wish to explore alternative travel options, such as ferry services", Aurigny said it is "providing the option for customers booked to travel on the 5th and 6th of November to request a full refund".

Refund requests can be submitted at Aurigny.com/refund-form

The airline said it "continues to offer the opportunity for its customers travelling on these dates the flexibility to make free date changes.

"Customers wishing to make changes can do so via Manage my Booking at Aurigny.com/manage."

A spokesperson for the airline, said: “We are committed to minimising disruption and doing everything we can to support all our customers during this time.

“Given the persisting nature of the current weather conditions, we’re offering customers full flexibility, including the opportunity to claim a refund so they can avail themselves of all possible transport options.

"We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of all our customers. For the latest updates, we encourage passengers to check our website at Aurigny.com/information/arrivals-departures."
