"Based on information we currently have, we are not issuing a warning for people to stay indoors, however islanders should consider cancelling any activities which may put them at risk," a States spokesperson said.
"Anything on the coast, particularly on the west coast, could be very dangerous and people should avoid these areas. Depending on how badly the winds materialise, outdoor activities in general may be unwise."
Some flooding is expected on the West Coast.
High water is at 10:10 tomorrow morning at 7.95m, peaking against at 22:40 at 7.56m.
The wind is forecast to initially be west/northwest before moving to northwest by lunchtime.
Disruption is expected at the airport, with Aurigny having already offered passengers due to fly tomorrow a free transfer.
All Condor sailings from Guernsey have been cancelled tomorrow and Sunday
The Household Waste and Recycling Centre and the Mont Cuet Green Waste site will be closed tomorrow as a precaution.
"It is likely the disruption will extend into Sunday and possibly into Monday, but a decision on site openings for these days will be taken as the situation progresses and updates provided," said Guernsey Waste Operations Manager Sarah Robinson.
"We would also ask all households setting out waste or recycling on Sunday or Monday night to first check the forecast and consider holding onto materials where they can. Recycling bags can be blown around in windy conditions, and if they do escape, they tend to leave an awful mess that someone must clear up. If you absolutely must put one out, please make sure to weigh it down sufficiently to ensure it will not be blown around."
Sports events have also been hit, including Guernsey Athletics cancelling its club championship cross country that was due to take place on Saturday afternoon.
The States of Alderney has also issued weather advice.
"Residents are advised to take extra care when venturing out and to avoid traversing coastal areas during this period," a spokesperson said.
"Particular emphasis is placed on avoiding the west coast of the island on Saturday when the most severe period of weather is forecast. Access to the Commercial Quay will be restricted to essential personnel only during this period and residents are discouraged from attempting to visit the Admiralty Breakwater and surrounding areas while this severe weather persists.
"Please would all residents ensure that any items in their gardens are secured to prevent damage to theirs and their neighbour's property. This request is also extended to boat owners to ensure that their vessel is safe and secured especially if being stored in the boat park areas at the Harbour."
Guernsey Water has advised that on Saturday morning, the cesspit service will be operating as normal. However a continuous assessment will be made as to whether it is safe to continue to operate.
"The safety of our drivers and customers is paramount," said a spokesperson. "Now, this may impact any emergency collections and so we’re asking you to bear with us – especially during the most severe gales.
"Please only call if it is an absolute emergency – that’s your pit overflowing or backing up into your property. We’ll assess the conditions at the time of your call and get you as soon as we can. Thank you."
