Flying Christine dispatched to assist Sark patient

Friday 24 July 2020

The St John Marine Ambulance had to be dispatched to Sark yesterday for a patient who required treatment for a chronic condition.

The Flying Christine 3 was requested by Sark medical practice on Thursday morning and left St Peter Port at 9am.

On arrival at the harbour, the paramedic-led medical team were greeted by a Sark doctor; following a handover the patient was transferred onto the Flying Christine for further assessment by Ambulance Service Clinicians.

The patient was monitored on route back to Guernsey, and on arrival was transported to the PEH Emergency Department by a waiting ambulance.

This was the first case for the Flying Christine 3 since its return to the water, following recent maintenance carried out on the craft.
