The St John marine ambulance left St Peter Port harbour just after 17:00, arriving in Sark about forty minutes later.

The medical team was met at the harbour by the Sark Ambulance and liaised with the Sark doctor before the patient was assisted onto the Flying Christine III for further assessment and monitoring before the return voyage to Guernsey. On arrival in St Peter Port the patient was transferred to a waiting road ambulance for the journey to the Emergency Department of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

This was one of 21 calls on a hectic day for St John, which also included "falls, medical conditions and traumatic injuries."

The St John marine ambulance is crewed by a team of volunteer skippers and engineers from the local maritime community and staffed by professional clinicians from the Emergency Ambulance Service.

The Flying Christine III relies on support from charitable donations, sponsorship and bequests. Last week it was announced that the fuel for 2020 had been sponsored by Moonpig.
