First Seafront Sunday coincides with 3,600 arriving cruise passengers

It’s going to be a bumper Seafront Sunday today, as a 3,600 people travel to the Bailiwick on the Sky Princess cruise, mingling with the thousands expected in St Peter Port for a street party based on food.

Today’s event focuses on Eat, Drink and Be Local (EDABL), the campaign championing local growers and producers.

The event not only coincides with the arrival of a cruise ship, it’s also the same day as ‘The Big Lunch’, an event that aims to bring people together across the nation to celebrate the coronation.  Screenshot_2023-05-05_at_15.21.17.png

Many seafront restaurants will be opening their al fresco areas and there’ll also be live music up and down the front of St Peter Port.

"They [the events] highlight the huge wealth of talent here in Guernsey and show the importance of supporting local businesses,” said Chris Humber, another member of the EDABL committee.

“The events always have an incredible atmosphere, and we hope both islanders and tourists alike will enjoy their return.”
