Thursday 22 December 2022

Guernsey Police have clarified the situation at Havelet earlier this week which saw a number of officers rush to the scene to help out in a potentially dangerous situation.

At least four police cars and eight officers were seen on and around Havelet Bay on Tuesday morning where a dog was seen running around and barking.

Guernsey Police have confirmed that officers responded to an incident and then handed the animal and the situation over to the GSPCA to resolve.

In a short statement, the force said:

“Guernsey Police attended an incident at Havelet Bay (Tuesday) after receiving reports of an out of control dog which could have been a danger to the public.

"The GSPCA were contacted to assist and there was no further police involvement.”

The GSPCA has not yet responded to any requests for information about this situation.
