A 71-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following an incident in Guernsey's Market Square.
Enquiries are ongoing, with police officers wanting to speak to a woman who may have seen what happened.
The initial report, which led to the man's arrest was made by another member of the public who alleged an incident had taken place near the Mylk kiosk in Market Square.
A woman seen walking her dogs nearby at the same time could add further information to the investigation, it has been claimed.
Guernsey Police would like to speak to that woman "urgently", they said this morning.
She has short blonde hair and was walking two dogs - a golden pug cross and a brown and white spaniel called Otis and Jericho respectively - at the time of the alleged incident.
She, or any other witnesses, are asked to call the Duty Sergeant at Guernsey Police station on 222 222.
Information can also be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
