Jackie Weaver is going to chair a Zoom call tonight, ahead of Guernsey's next round of parish elections, to try and encourage more people to stand for Douzaine roles.
As Patron of campaign group Women in Public Life, the former viral star of the Handforth Parish Council meeting, and now star of TV show Make Me Prime Minister, will speak to a panel of female Douzeniers from across the island to find out what they do.
The panel of female Douzeniers come from parishes across the island, and each will speak about their role at the heart of their community, and what they are achieving, and then they'll answer questions.
The Zoom call takes place from 19:00 to 20:30 tonight, Wednesday 12 October.
Free tickets for the event are available on Eventbrite HERE.

Elections for seats on Guernsey’s ten Douzaines take place in three weeks, on Wednesday 2 November.
The vacancies have been announced and nomination forms for people interested in standing are available from parish offices, along with information about the election process.
Chair of Women in Public Life, Shelaine Green is hoping for a good turn out from candidates, and voters.
"The number of women getting involved with parish life as Douzeniers has been growing over the last few years – and is now up to 33%. Many are keen to share their experiences to encourage others to join them, so we’re delighted that Jackie has agreed to host this special event.
"Jackie is committed to encouraging everyone to get involved in local democracy, in whatever way suits them. Since becoming our patron, she’s taken a lot of interest in what we get up to as Women in Public Life.
"We’re confident Jackie won’t need to eject anyone from our Zoom call!’

Jackie Weaver is the Chief Officer of Cheshire Association of Local Councils.
She became famous overnight when a recording of a contentious meeting of Handforth Parish Council went viral. Her calm management of the meeting – including banishing two members to the waiting room – endeared her to the British public.
Mrs Weaver agreed to become patron of Women in Public Life last year after visiting the island in September for their event, ‘You do have the authority! An evening with Jackie Weaver’.
She is currently appearing on the Channel 4 show, Make Me Prime Minister, competing with eleven other candidates to prove she has what it takes to lead the nation.
