Condor maintains connections with St Malo next year

Sunday 27 October 2019

Condor has confirmed its timetable for next year which shows daily, direct sailings to France from Guernsey throughout the Summer holidays, which the ferry firm says have been 'designed to support the visitor economy and improve travel for islanders'.

The schedule covers the 12 months from 29 March 2020 to 27 March 2021 and features non-stop services every day to St Malo in the Summer peak, together with twice weekly direct sailings on Fridays and Mondays during the shoulder months.

Paul Luxon, Condor’s CEO, said the new schedule reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting travel and tourism in the Bailiwick.

"We consulted with key stakeholders, including Visit Guernsey, in developing the timetable, so hope this will benefit local travellers and the inbound visitor market. By extending the sailing period to the end of March 2020 also allows passengers to plan their travel further ahead."

Condor says it increased its marketing spend in 2019 to 'stimulate travel from France, capitalising on the re-opening of Hauteville House and to encourage more French holiday makers to visit the island next year'.

Other features include a boost in the number of inter-island full or part day trips for sports tourism and travel during school holidays. Day trips have also been put in place specifically to support the Muratti Vase Final, Siam Cup and Junior Siam rugby.
