Condor ranks highly in Which? magazine

It's not all bad news for Condor Ferries, which has been ranked second out of six domestic ferry routes in the British Isles by Which?.

The ferry company came behind NorthLink Ferries, which runs the route from mainland Scotland to the Northern Isles (Shetland and Orkney), in this month's edition of Which? travel magazine.

Condor had an overall customer score of 71%, according to Which?, meaning they squeaked second place above Calmac and Wightlink services. Condor scored four stars in the following categories: customer service, ease of booking, passenger space, cleanliness and toilets. The remaining categories (facilities, food and drink, and value for money) earned the ferry firm three stars.

NorthLink scored better than Condor in two categories: customer service and passenger space (five stars). Its overall customer score was 80%.

This comes after much speculation about the ferry company, which was revealed to have lost £1.5m for the 2022-2023 financial year, Express reported last week.

Though a high achiever in the "Domestic Routes" section, Condor Ferries did not place in the "Routes to France" category, which Brittany Ferries took first and second place for.

The report also shunned P & O Ferries for its Dover to Calais service, naming that service as 'best to avoid'.
