Christmas lunch for everyone

Sunday 25 December 2022

Two organisations are opening their doors to others today to ensure everyone is invited to Christmas lunch.

The Salvation Army will host their traditional lunch at The Fortress at Picquerel.

Up to 50 people will be there for the Christmas Day lunch and games.

The church has been supported in its efforts to provide a festive feast for everyone by Mourant. The legal and governance services firm donated bags of goodies to ensure the day goes off well.

In St Peter Port, the Mill Street Community Cafe will be open to those who have booked to have their lunch there.

It will be open between 12:00 and 15:00 offering free food and drink to those attending but donations are welcome if you are able to.

Their message was: "All welcome. No one needs to be alone this Christmas".

As well as providing a Christmas lunch tomorrow, the Mill Street Community Cafe will be able to provide hot meals, snacks and drinks to those in need during the new year too thanks to donations from other customers.
