St John Marine Ambulance volunteers came to the aid of a child who needed emergency treatment after falling ill in Herm.
In a busy day for the emergency ambulance service, the Flying Christine was deployed twice. The medical crew were sent to Herm shortly after 10:00 for a child with a condition that required urgent treatment from paramedics.
"On arrival at Herm harbour, clinicians from the emergency ambulance service assessed and treated the patient before transferring them and a relative back to Guernsey," said a spokesman for St John.

"The Flying Christine was back at St Peter Port harbour within an hour of departing and once back in Guernsey the patient was transferred into a waiting road ambulance for journey to the Emergency Department of the PEH for further treatment."
Later in the afternoon, the Flying Christine was requested by the Sark Doctor for an injured woman who needed medical care at the PEH.
"The paramedic-led medical crew from St John arrived in Sark shortly before 18:00," said the spokesman. "Following a handover from the Sark GP the patient was able to walk onto the marine ambulance for the journey to Guernsey. The female was observed en route before being transferred by road ambulance from St Peter Port harbour to the PEH for further assessment and treatment."

The Flying Christine III, which is manned by volunteers from the local marine community and clinical staff from the emergency ambulance service, has been deployed eight times in the past thirty days for medical cases in Herm and Sark, including one earlier this week.
At the weekend, the St Peter Port lifeboat was also used as a relief vessel when two separate incidents occurred on different islands at the same time.
