Channel Islands Air Search will be celebrating its 40th anniversary, with an 80s themed party organised by the Guernsey Friends of Air Search.
CIAS is run by volunteers and costs nearly a quarter-of-a-million pounds every year to run.
The annual costs are raised by fundraising events in the island, with the 'Friends' volunteer group supporting the charity.
CIAS was founded in the 1980s with a Piper Aztec airplane; subsequently, the Islander aircraft took over in 1990, and a new state of the art plane took to the skies in 2019.

Last year 'Friends' raised money by raffling off a Ducati super bike, donating £11,000 to the CIAS.
The money raised from the upcoming 80s event will help the CIAS continue to operate its rescue service in the 4,000 square miles around the Channel Islands, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
"We hope that the Guernsey public will support the event and enjoy classic tracks from the time, whilst helping raise vital funds to enable us to continue our life-saving work," said Mark Seabrook of the Friends of Air Search.
The 80s night will take place on Friday 1 October at the Peninsula Hotel, tickets are £20 per person and you can book a spot HERE.
