One of St Peter Port's constables has vowed to return the Office's missed calls personally, after the Douzaine was forced to keep its Office closed due to staff illness.
Constable Zoe Lihou said the staff sickness was being taken seriously given the team's public-facing roles.
"Unfortunately, owing to staff illness our office is again closed to the public today," said Ms Lihou this morning.
"We take infectious illness seriously and wish to protect our team and members of the public. I have noted who called yesterday and will try to call you back today.
"In the mean time if you have received a bill and you have paid it, please message constables@stpeterport.gg we will sort it. Take care, thank you for your patience."
People can still collect replacement bins/bags from the foyer of building.
